Modern interpretation of a Cape Cod saltbox perched above Cahoon Hollow Beach. Designed to minimize site disruption — the home threads between mature pitch pines. Cathedral ceilings with exposed Douglas fir beams, a central stone fireplace, and walls of glass facing the Atlantic.
The roofline echoes the dune profile behind it. Conservation Commission approval required careful coordination with wetland consultants. The foundation design accounts for the sandy soil conditions unique to the Outer Cape.
The home features a standing-seam zinc roof, reclaimed oak flooring, and a rainwater collection system that feeds the landscape irrigation. A detached studio provides guest quarters with its own ocean view.

Building in Wellfleet meant dealing with the Conservation Commission and sandy Outer Cape soil conditions. German handled all of it — hurricane prep, foundation engineering, permitting. We just showed up to a finished house that's built to withstand anything the Atlantic throws at it.
